Just a virtual Vietnam

Somebody as defined the Assange's story a sort of "New Vietnam" for U.S.A. meaning that the still strongest country in the world has been in some way defeated by the events which showed the public opinion the frailty of the north american eletronic security system. They say, in other words, that U.S.A., would  being facing,
from all the other countries,  a disapproving behaviour  whose they we'll be soon ashamed of.
I don't agree with such opinionists.
First of all, in the Withe House there is Mr Obama now; while in those days a certain Mr Nixon was occupying that high seat;
 Secondly we must notice that in the Assange's story U.S.A. are the victims not the aggressors, as they looked at the eyes of the international public opinion in the sixties;
Thirdly (and I stop here, though there would be much more to say on the differences between the two cases) nowdays there is not any socialist appeal against U.S.A.. I want to say that at hte times of the Vietnam's affairs the world was confident that there might be another way of ruling the world and the criticist looked to the leftwing countries (like URSS, China and Cuba) to search a new hope and a new way of ruling the international affairs. But today noone still believes there is a better way than the american and european democracies.
Unless we want to speak about a virtual democracy: the web's democracy, where all people seem to have the same power, or at least the power is not the power that Stalin wanted information of about the Vatican, asking his advicers: "How many divisions has got the Pope?"
Of course U.S.A. must be clever: in my opinion they need to make their information web stronger and capable to resist to any hacker's intrusion or spy's system and leave Julian Assange to his destiny.
Prosecuting the australian boss of Wikyleaks USA risk to look, in front of the international public opinion, the arrogant giant stalking the poor freedom's seller. And people, between David and Golia alaways choose the first. And furthermore, in that case, U.S.A. really cooul risk a new, virtual Vietnam.

I'm for Prince William

Michael Thorton, a veteran observer of the Royal Family, has published in the today's DM on line, a very interesting article on the succeeding matter for the throne of England, asking Prince of Wales to make himself apart in favour of his son Prince William, taking example from his great-uncle Edward VIII.
Well, let me say that I agree with Thorton's point of view; and despite the comments of bird of ill omen bishop Broadbent, who has declared the wedding between Prince William and Miss Kate Middlengton will last only for seven year, I wish the regal pair to reign over, together, at least, as long as His grandparents have done.

First International Singers Contest On Line

Maria Aleida Rodriguez

I want  to give the right  space to the first international singers on line contest organized by Musicamore Tiscali  Blog from Italy.

 Today the winners were announced by the jury,  whose I was a an effective member.

No matter who were the winnersin the different sections,  I  hope to find some talent who  can be able to  play the characters in my  musicals, the last one of which

 " S'Urtima Jana"is going to be  to represented in  Bulgaria  with my students.

Of course, with some talents, I need to find    the sponsors. My previous Musical "Afora Sos Sardos" was represented in Madrid in 2008. They are both set in Sardinia and are very closely tied up with the history of the island of Sardinia. So I think that should be the local governement to provide the financial means to produce   in Cagliari, both works.

Whom does Coco belong to?

 Coco is a beautiful and very clever african grey parrot who can sing "O sole mio" as well as did the great Italian singer Luciano Pavarotti.
He was taught to sing several Italian songs and many English words by his former Italian owner Angelo Ferlazzo; but when his first marriage split off he went back to Italy leaving his parrot on custody to his former wife who gave the witt parrot to the Pet Corner in Harlow.
-" We bought the parrot in good faith so many years ago"- declared the Chairman of the Pet Corner to the Judge" and  the property is undoubtly ours. Furthermore it would be a great stress for Coco to leave a friendly place where he has become a really star and the best attraction for the kids and for their parents!"
But Mr Ferlazzo does not to chenge his mind: hearing his friend Coco singing after so many years moved on him a great emotion and now he needs strongly to rejoyce with him.
But for the present time the singing parrot stays at the Centre.
Who knows what would be the next Mr Ferrazzo's move?

 Since ever There is a quarrel about whom has got the supremacy between men and women.
Now, a recent research conducted by professor Tom Kirkwood shows definetly that the sceptre of supremacy belongs to women.
It seems to be a matter of biology: women are more skillful on rebuilding the cells destroyed by the time, while men are simply disposed to let them die.
That's why women live more than men.
And in the other animals the gap is still larger: female live more than ten years more than their males.

Like a film story

Sound really like a movie-story the facts narrated  in  the autobiography of the Rolling Stones's guitarrist Keith Richards as DM on line reports today (please see the link below ).

We are eternal

Carlos Santana is a great guitar player. The Magazine Rolling Stone places him at the 15th best guitar player of any time. I add, by myself, that may be is the best living guitar player.
And he's also a great spirit. He believes we are energy which never dies; though he does not believe in religions.
Once I also used to follow this sort of "New Ages", born after the great sixties' spiritual movements (like the sons of the flowers, hippie's movements and things like that).
Of course I left them all behind me, after discovering the greatness of Jesus who came on the earth to die for us and to give us the eternal life.
Keep on playing your guitar Carlos; I hope one day, far away in the time, you'll be playing for the Angels, in the Heaven, 'cause I know your spirit is a good one.

 It seems that soon in the supermarket's shifts, sticky labels will left for laser.

That's what suggests a spanish company which has positively experimented etching due information by laser on fruit and vegatables on sale.

Just give peace a chance

I couldn't realize why the Beatles had split off. They were my best group and I was a Lennon's fan. I was just a young boy but I liked "The Plastic Ono Band". Then I heard an interview on the BBC radio. Lennon confessed to have reached the sane equilibrium with and thanks to Yoko. He had stopped smoking and drinking and taking drugs. He had left the group, in the first senties, because  he had realized that most of people around them were robbing the group's profits. And most of all he wanted to be free. he was a real artist and like all the artists he lived some contradictions; like when he said he din't like capitalism but he did live as a capitalist. But he was a mith to me: his pacifism, his music, his ideals were also mines. 'See you John, where ever your spirit might be! Who knows if you are in that Heaven you told us not believe in!

The Son of God Neptune

 This wonderful 36 weeks boy can rightly be considered as a son of Neptune-Poseidon or may be son of Roman god Mercury (Hermes for the Greeks).
As matter of fact he was born, as you can easily read in his birth certificate at "air/sea occurrence".
But his real name is Bearing Linville, and he was born the 13 september 2010 at 28 miles far from the shore, where their parents were sailing and caught by an unpredictable storm, just in front of the coasts of Florida (U.S.A.).
Well! Congratulations to this son of Neptune!

The maxim "Carpe diem" has currently risen to a different meaning from the original Horace's lyric poet of the Carmina.
As matter of fact Horace's dialogue to the young Leuconoe is not an invitation to enjoy blindly the life, but is better a call to live the possible happyness that the incertainty of our life can offer to us (carpe diem: quam minimum credulo postero).
In this point of view "carpe diem" accords with the right meaning contained in Saint Mathew's Gospel (Chapter 6, 25-31) with which Jesus invites us to live today without the ambush for tomorrow.
So we can say, with Novalis that the great latin poet, Horace was the real priest-poet.

Once upon a time

Once upon a time there was an island, just a little off shore, in the south-east of London. Its name is Isle of Wight. It was a symbol of Freedom, of Music and Peace. Now two poor boys have lived an horror story as their father hung himself in the boy's bedroom, after allegedly killing their mother.
Let's pray for the souls of the deads and fot he lifes of those poor boys. I hope for them too that the Isle of Wight still remains a synonimous of Freedom, Music and Peace.

Dreaming on the Space

Since I was a teen boy I have been dreaming on shipping in the Space.

Now that I even fear an airplane, I've quite changed my mind!

Nevertheless I still believe that Manhood will alaways keep searching the Space, 'cause it's his own very natura to do it!

Thus I still believe the future of humanity is out there on the infinity space.

I wonder where the men would have got, far in the space's discovering, if only they din't spend all the energies playing wars!

Of course we need to believe in Science and not in misgiving people!

Well is just a rock, staying on the new picture sent us by the Viking's cameras!

Corridas Adios

Had been approved the law proposal, on discussion tomorrow in Barcelona, the Corridas will be banned in the Catalugna Region.
The law's discussion follows a petiton signed by 180.000 citizens of Catalugna (including the Capital's Region Barcelona) who want to stop th atrocity against the toros.
On the other hand there are several supporters of the great spanish tadition of the Corridas who claim that the petitors represent a politicasl moviment aimed to political dissolution against the unity of Spain.
Furthermore som many do believe that the Corrida's tradition is a symbol of Spain which provides tourism, jobs and trades, with significant contribution to the increase of the Internal Production of Spain.

Well, I belong to a generation who used to believe that Rock Music were a sort of Religion, a kind of ideology capable to bring love, peace and freedom, in order to save the world from the social diseases.
May be we all were a bunch of naif believers, victims of our selfillusion; and may be rock is not that kind of pure and sane ideology we belivied it was; may be.......

Mind the Black Car!

A recent research, done in Australia, shows the black cars are most likely to be involved in car crash.
But is not a matter of superstiction, or just of misfortune.
It deals with a fact that black colour is less visible on the roads than the white one and the rest of bright colours, like yellow, orange etc.
On the other hand, say the australian reaserchers, if everyone had to buy a white coloured car, the contrast which make them more visible on the roads would vanish.
So, the best thing, is to pay attention and drive without assuming first any drink or any drug.
Also turning on the lights would be a good signal to keep accidents away.

A multimillionaire dog

Gail Posner, a multimillionaire, american heiress, has left her fortune(25 million english pounds) to her dogs and housekeepers and just 650.000,00 pounds were left to her son.

Her son has started a legal row to invalidate the mother's testament, allegeing she was drugged and mental incompetent.

The housekeepers (and may also the dogs) don't agree at all.

Christ weeps tears of blood

Usually is the Mother to ooze tears of blood, as happened in Civitavecchia (close to Rome) where the Pope John Paul II Himself seems to have given confirmation of authenticity.

But this time, in the province of Tucuman, north-east Argentina, is the statue of Christ who has seen weeping blood's tears.

Of course the Church is very cautious in such cases because in the past, very often, it has been found out either visionary or cheating people behind these phenomena.

At the moment, what is sure is that a moltitude of people have flown over to visit the Oratory of Yerba Buena, where the alleged bleeding image of Christ is located, in such a number that the priest had to celebrate the Holy Mass on the adiacent streets.

Thousands of pilgrims have overwhelmed a small church in Argentina after blood was said to be oozing down the face of an image of Jesus Christ.

A red substance was photographed running from the forehead of Jesus and down his cheek in a church depiction of the Last Supper.

Local priest Father Jorge Gandur said the 'ooze comes from one of the wounds on the left side of the forehead of Christ produced by the crown of thorns'.

Great Courage but Strengthless

The oldest mother in the world is bound to die.
Rajo Devi Lohan comes from India, Haryana State, north of Dehli.
She's famous in the world to be the courageous woman who birth to a child at the age of 69 (the oldest mother in the world as matter of fact) after doing a IVF treatment in a controversial indian clinic.
But nobody told her the risks connected to such a treatment of increasing fertility and now she's too weak to look after his eihteen months child.
Doctors fear the same could happen to another indian woman who is the oldest mother of a triplets.

As Rebecca Radford lay recovering from a heart transplant after being given only two weeks to live, she was told she would never be a mother.

She had had the operation at the age of only 23, but doctors had also given her some devastating news - the strain of any pregnancy would be too much for her new heart.

Then in May last year, only two years after her transplant, she discovered she was pregnant. If she chose to carry on with it she risked her new heart failing - which could cost her her life.

She said: 'I am just so grateful to the family who donated my heart. It has saved one life and created another too.'

A handshake simply won't cut it: Gorillas embrace as they meet for the FIRST time

In the world of gorilla etiquette, it appears the handshake never quite caught on.

Instead a quick spin on the dancefloor seems the appropriate way of getting to know one another.

And having met for the first time, these female gorillas rapidly got to grips with some complicated moves.

First, ten-year-old Johari allowed Mbeli, six, to climb on her back and ride facing backwards when they were introduced at Melbourne Zoo in Australia.

Then the partners swapped positions, with Mbeli - a Western Lowland gorilla from Sydney's Taronga Zoo - giving Johari a lift.

Finally they ended with a more conventional ballroom stance, standing and embracing to show their mutual approval.

Mbeli's arrival has brought the number of gorillas at the zoo to nine - with the oldest being Rigo, a 40-year-old male.

A statement on Taronga Zoo's website said: 'It was a sad day for primate keepers when our eldest juvenile female gorilla, Mbeli, departed for Melbourne Zoo.

'Our keepers have been working very closely with her over the past few months training her for this big day.

'The day started off as any normal day in the Gorilla House, with keepers meeting to discuss the morning’s events and then positioning the gorillas.

'He let the keepers know he wasn’t happy with what was going on in no uncertain terms, even vocalising at them.

'A lot of this is just bluff and it is quite natural for a silverback to react in this way.

'She has settled into her new family life nicely,' the statement added.

Clive the teacup piglet might have been happier without the wellies, since his kind are partial to puddles.

Where are we going to?

Watching some pictures taken on the Gulf of Mexico, of desperate birds trying to save themselves from the consequences of the BP's oil disaster, I ask my self : "But where are we going to?"

"Is that a right price for our high standard of life?"

"Won't we loose anything at the endo of all?"

"Can we call it really progress?"

I know they are very hard questions to be answered but as a man of this earth, in love with the Nature, not in a fanatical way but with a grateful feeling toward God's gifts of Creation I need to pose such questions though I have no reply to them my self, yet only suffering.

Turned into unrecognisable monsters by the oil: Sickening new images of the helpless wildlife dying in the muck of the BP spill

It could be an image from a grisly sci-fi movie. But it is not. This bird is a shocking illustration of the catastrophic impact of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill on local wildlife.

The pelican - the official bird of Louisiana - was one of a number that were saved off the coast of the state.

They were barely able to walk or get out of the sea near East Grand Terre island, where officials found around 35 of the birds.

They were treated with detergents to wash off the oil. Many more animals have not been so lucky. More than 400 dead birds have so far been recovered.

Images such as this will only fuel anger towards BP as the spill enters its 46th day and the company struggles to stem the flow of oil from the ruptured Deepwater Horizon well.

Previously, photographs of wildlife coated in an oily sheen were as bad as it got. But now the animals are drowning in the muck, as thick and sticky as treacle, and much, much harder to clean up.

Crude oil has been pouring unchecked into the Gulf of Mexico at up to 19,000 barrels (800,000 gallons) a day since an explosion on April 20 that demolished a BP-contracted drilling platform off the coast of Louisiana, killing 11 crewmen.

It unleashed an environmental disaster of epic proportions. The spill is now the worst in U.S. history - worse than the Exxon Valdez spill - and there is no end in sight.

U.S. President Barack Obama has now gone to Louisiana for a third time in an attempt to deal with the oil spill.

He had previously been criticised for not prioritising the situation in Louisiana, with Kirby Goidel, a political scientist at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, saying: 'There's a feeling down here that this is not a top priority for him, that he's reacting to events rather than trying to control events.'


BP has failed in repeated attempts to stop the leak, and it has now spread from Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi to lap at the shores of Florida's white beaches.

Government forecasters said part of the far-flung oil sheen had crept within six miles of Florida's Gulf Coast and could reach the white, sandy shores in days.

Experts also fear it could hit the U.S. coast in just weeks. Underwater slicks are caught up in a Gulf current called the Loop Current, set to carry the oil around the Florida Panhandle and out into the open Atlantic.


The U.S. National Centre for Atmospheric Research projected that the oil slick would be driven by wind and currents around the Florida peninsula by early summer and up the East Coast, possibly as far as North Carolina.

The Atlantic hurricane season began on June 1 and will last until October. The prospect of a massive storm spreading the oil, hampering efforts to cap the leak, is chilling.

Back in the Gulf, wildlife officials said 60 birds at the Queen Bess Island Pelican Rookery in Louisiana, including 41 pelicans, were found coated in oil before being caught and taken to a rehabilitation centre.

The brown pelican, Louisiana's state bird, was removed from the federal endangered species list last year.

A bird that feeds by plunge-diving for fish in the open surf, the brown pelican has been among the hardest hit birds by the spill.

A 'paralysed' man who pocketed thousands of pounds in disability benefits was secretly filmed playing rugby.

Undercover fraud investigators stood on the sidelines taking footage of Shean Saunders in the middle of a scrum.

They also found out he had taken a part-time job as a cleaner.

The 34-year-old claimed more than £7,000 in benefits during a two-year period after he claimed he suffered from spastic paralysis which disables part of the nervous system that controls coordinated movement of the voluntary muscles.

Saunders, from Yeovil, Somerset, admitted claiming benefits between June 2007-9.

Prosecutor Will Palmer told South Somerset magistrates: 'In August 2007 information was received by the Department of Work and Pensions that Saunders started playing rugby for Crewkerne Rugby Club.

'It was also discovered he had started working for a local firm as a cleaner receiving £142.20 per fortnight.'

He was filmed twice running around a rugby pitch, and at the centre of the scrum.

Mr Palmer said: 'Both times Saunders was playing for the Crewkerne team in the positions of hooker and full back.

'He was interviewed by investigators on January 28 2009 where he denied working for the cleaning company but when shown photographs and video footage of the rugby games he denied to comment.'

The total fiddle was worth £7,448.80 in hand-outs.

Helena Suffield, defending, said: 'My client finds it very difficult to deal with paperwork and life in general now he is not with his ex-wife and he has become a bit lost in the world of officialdom and bureaucracy.'

She said the Dept of Work and Pensions would recoup the money.

Magistrates sentenced him to a 12 month community order and told to carry out 100 hours unpaid work.

The Dept of Work and Pension's senior investigator John Martin said: 'We are determined to ensure people do tell us their true circumstances.'

Julia Gnuse - nicknamed the 'illustrated lady' - has 95 per cent of her body covered in ink, ranging from jungle scenes and cartoons to her favourite actors.
Miss Gnuse, from California, started getting tattoos on her legs after developing a skin condition called porphyria, which causes the skin to blister when exposed to sunlight.
