Songs for Elem

 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B016FL9MVA

Ain’t that love?

My love was desperation

Because around me

It was all emptiness,

And I just needed

A  heart beating for me

To fill my longing to love!

But  is it love?

If our  fate

has brought us here together

Oh Elem

And I have seen on you

The end of  loneliness

When  counting down

the minutes between us

And if  I pained   leaving

rejoiced coinciding

staring at any people

Searching of you

And if I  winced up

At any resembling  shadow

And you were become a master

of my any single dream

 devoured by anxiety

and I didn’t feel  hunger nor thirst

And every single thought,

Every single word,

Every single thing

Every single person

were you

Isn’t that love?

Magic Sardinia - 3

When I was younger I thought that our land deserved a better fate and that we colud join together to fight against the injusticies and abuses of the history (and perpetrad by the historians).

I have never believed in violence, so my decision to fight pushed me to join a politician party that in the heighties was granted by more than a victory in the polls.

But this party, which had been funded by the  great, honest politician and writer of  the past Emilio Lussu, showed to be corrupted and not able to make any change, as emerged in the ninties by numerous cases of politic corruption in the nationalist party of Sardinia called "The four dark brown" from the flag of the very region of Sardinia). Its top men, turned out to be more attached to power than the italic politician they declared to fight against for the indipendence of our people. Furthermore the sardinian people itself turned out to be individualistic, incapable to find a unity, fragmented into a thousand streams of different ideas!

In my old age I realize with sadness that sardinian people was a romantic idea, borned in my mind, present in my soul, but non-existent in reality.

Of course the vestiges remain of our great past when may be we colud be called a fierce people.

But there is also the disappointment of noting the envy and invidualism of a people without any guide.

Lonely is passing another day

Lonely is passing another day
while the sun is trying to breach down the sky
on its way to the other side of the earth
I ask  myself. “Why do we have to suffer?”

II
Loner I’m passing another day
Over my restless soul
With no certain direction
And I ask  myself:
“What I am looking for?”

III
Lonely is passing another day
And I fear the unknown
And I don’t fight for money
And I don’t fight for love
and I ask  myself:
“Why don’t I leave
For the infinity ways
Lay aside on the world ?”

Loner I’m passing another day

Memoirs of London - 6

In 1979 I was back on the road to work for the B.B.C., a company that, apart from the initials of its name, had nothing else to share with British state television. In fact, the Benjamin Building Company did not afflict people with boring programs, neither it  talked with shameless lies about national and international political events. Finally my Company did not even put its nose in the lives of the Queen and the other members of the Royal Family,  generally speaking.

The company I worked for delighted their customers  by selling ice cream and drinks, logistically relying on a chain’s shop of souvenirs, sweets and tobacco’s  strategically located at several points in the great London area known as West End.

This vast and famous London metropolitan area, which also includes Soho district and numerous small and large parks, is bordered by a perimeter that runs through the important streets of Oxford Street, Charing Cross Rd, Shaftesbury Av and Regent's Street, forming an irregular trapeze whose four tops pass from Tottenham Court Rd to Oxford Circus; from there to Piccadilly Circus and  finally end at Leicester Square, couple of yards   from Trafalgar Square, where Admiral Nelson's statue, according to the likely intentions of the public authorities who wanted it so powerfully high, witnessed  the  British’s greatness and glory to all those who would walk from there: French people, foreigners  and British from all over the Empire.

In those years, the greatness and glory of England, after the almost total depletion of the British Empire,  seemed more remote and far from the statue of the great conductor of the seas. And nostalgia, it’s all over known, is a feeling that more acutely manifests itself, when the best times are over and  a crisis is bound to come.

And that Great Britain was in crisis at the end of the seventies of the twentieth century, it immediately became apparent also to the "street traders" who, living among the people, felt the moods of the average citizen in an emotionally direct way.

On the street, they felt discomfort and nervousness, though the real troubles were still to come, shortly thereafter, with the irresistible rise to power of the Conservatives headed by Margareth Tatcher (later known as the “Iron Lady"), which would mark the end of a cycle in London's administrative life, characterized by a policy of traditional securing of democratic freedoms and sympathy for the weaker social classes.

Moreover, the English metropolis had represented since the rising of the first music liberation and protest groups (born on the wave of the American Hippies movement, also known as the "beat generation") a decisive cultural reference point, helping to make London the Capital of the Rock Movement, where refugees disappointed by the illusion of the failed revolution of 1968, could find a safe refuge escape from the backflow of the reaction which  had gone through  the whole world.

And it was right there, in London, that they could still see the last glow of brightness before its definite sunset. So, in a good way, I agreed to resume my job and sell ice-creams and drinks in the street. By my side I had a refrigerating machine that turned milk into ice cream and a refreshing machine dispensing orange and lemonade.

Where  else could I work, let alone  the road? And to do what? Maybe to get into some office with air conditioning in the summer, heating in the winter, and the stench of paperwork under my nose? There was no other world for me, now, if not that; no other destiny, no other life I could have wanted, than the free life  of street's traders.

Returning to the road meant for me to relive from the very beginning my adventure in that mysterious and fascinating city that, unfortunately and superficially, is too often considered cold and inhospitable, considering also that never or almost never come into you get a direct contact with English or British people.

This story is devoted to London and to the dear places where I have lived in.  But it is also dedicated to all the peoples that those places with such variety and vivacity animated in those years who will pass through the main scene of my story: the streets of London.

Somewhere, Sometimes - V

FITH SCENE
(The King Gonario, as a ghost,  appears on stage and solemnly recite   the song of Akinta Qamar. It encloses the very meaning of the drama and will continue until the closing of the curtain).

  AKINTA QAMAR’S Song

Do not forget my sons
 Those ancient laws
That came long time ago from the sea
And of your mothers
Who rest under the grass!

Go, go, go
Go and love each others
Sons of the Earth
Where women
Are free to love anyone
And men
Do not want to master them!

The waters of the sources
Of the Earth
Have done a long march
Through the subterranean veins:
the water itself it’s only
the visible part.
The same thing happens with the men
 When they are born:
they are only the visible part
which we can see
of our ancestors!

 Do not forget my sons
 Those ancient laws
That came long time ago from the sea
And of your mothers
Who rest under the grass!

Sixth Scene
All the People celebrate the victory of love over the hate with the dance of the Last Moon!

The End

Somewhere, Sometimes - III

Third scene

RUMISU’s Song

In the Gonare’s throne
Dead twenty years ago
Took seat Itzocare
Instead of my mother

But now the truth
Has to come up
For I’m grow up
And there is now whom is
going to advice me!

People of Nure
I’m going to claim
The scepter belonged
To my father Gonario

And who doesn’t agree
Must know that even up there
As we have heard just now from Bithia
The Moon is not waiting anymore.

(The two cousins will fight for a few minutes, according to pre-established movements of fighting "Istrumpas (a sort of closer, harder wrestling)". Each phase of the fight will be accompanied by the cries of those present   forming  two factions: one for Damasu, the other in favour of Rumisu. The  struggle ends with Rumisu who sits on the Damasu’s body . As a sign of victory Rumisu shall lift the hands up while still sits on the opponent defeated. The people and all those present, except for close allies of Itzoccar and Anù, will applaud the new King Rumisu!)

Voices  from the crowd
-         Long life for Rumisu!

Voices  from the soldiers
-         Our Gods save  Gonario’s Son!!!
-

Other  voices
-         Long life for the king of  Nure!

Rumisu (will silence all with a nod of autocracy and hand will lie to her uncle Itzoccar, ripping his stick of command and his mantle; will wear the cloak and then by challenging the stick between new cheers. Rumisu will quiet  all as above )

-         Might the peace be back at Nure for ever. Our command will be based on the ancient laws of our fathers!

Aristea (occupying the centre of the scene)

-         No, Rumisu! Just for those ancient laws I’m in love with Iolao! (Iolao joins Aristea ). I’m not in love with you, nor I love Damasu. Women are not presents to be gained by means of wars like mantels or scepters. Women are  preys of  love.!!!!!!

Somewhere, sometimes - II

SECOND SCENE

The foresaid and Bithia. This scene is characterized by the singing of Bithia, with means of a solemn rituals in her movements altogether with the four vestals.

Song of  BITHIA

Our great fathers
Appearing  on my dreams
Fore say troubles
For the unpalatable people

And there is Gonario
Who is still regretting
His beloved wife
Left alone on the Earth

But now the moon
For the last time
Is going to obscure the sun
For its own reasons!

No weddings, no sons
Don’t try to obtain
Until when the stars
Will oppose to you

Our great fathers
Appearing  on my dreams
Fore say troubles
For the unpalatable people

(While Bithia, always in trance, will start to the exit of the scene, by the people come forth voices of protest)

Nakigia
         - Has anybody heard? The stars make opposition to any kind of weddings!!!

Damasu (parting  from the Group of noble and then showing his weapons will seek to harangue the people against Nakigia and Bithia’s prophecies)
         - Our King and our Majors are more important than the stars. Men of  Nure,   are we or are the women on charge here???

Elki (running close to Damasu)
         - The King’s son is right!  The Moon’s Gods are very far, behind the sea! In  Nure has come the time for the men to take on the command!

Anù
         - Long life for the king Itzocar and for the men of Nure!

(from the crowd  someone joins the cries of Anù. But Rumisu, with a cry of rage,   occupies the center of the stage, shutting everyone up ).

Rumisu
         - People of  Nure! Listen to me!!! If are the men on charge, and the king himself, then I’ll tell you that I’m the true king!!!!

Itzocar
         - You???

Rumisu
         - Certainly! Just me, the  Gonario’s son!!!

Damasu
         - And then, leave off the ground. This is a matter for men!

(Everybody will leave the center stage in two contenders! Rumisu will sing his song  and immediately after the two cousins will fight  together)

Like Poseidon in the Atlantic Ocean

You might think that the New Neptune God (Poseidon for the Greeks) is a long beard man with a trident in the right hand, as the iconography represents him everywhere. But the New God of the Seas is actually a  Triton submersible, called Nomad, piloted by Patrick Lahey, co-founder of Triton Submarines from Vero Beach, FL, U.S.A..

Jim Clash has interviewd him for Forbes.com under 1,000 feet under the surface, in the deepness of Atlantic ocean.
You can read the hole interview through the link below.

The first four apostles

From Chapter 4 of Saint's Mathew Gospel
VV 18-22

-    “Follow me, I will make
-     fishermen of you !” –It was this way
that Jesus, walking along the galilean sea
choosed two couples of brothers:
James and Jhon with Peter and Andrew,
who were fishing with their parents;
but they left nets and boats behind them
 for following Jesus!

Books for ever

"A good book is for ever!" That's exactly what I have thought reading again the Stevenson's masterpiece "Treasure Island".
And if you think it's just a children's book, well, I'll answer then I'm just a child, though already in my fifties!

The Pros and Cons of Taking Kids on a Cruise

Cruises have become a popular vacation option lately because they offer multiple stops and plenty of activities both onboard the ship and off, and many of them have started catering to families, planning the entire cruise around kid-friendly events.  If you’re toying with the idea of taking the kids on a cruise for your next family vacation, then check out these pros and cons and see if they help if your decision making.
Pros
  1. More and more cruise lines are taking families into consideration and ships are more kid friendly now.
  2. Many of the cruise lines (Norwegian, Royal, Disney, and MSC) are catering to kids with ships that have attractions such as water slides, kids’ clubs, kids’ camps, mini-golf, outdoor movies, and video arcades.
  3. There are plenty of things for the kids to do so parents can enjoy some time alone.  Cruise lines have increased their staff to include camp counselors and others to work strictly with the kids on board.
  4. There are teen clubs where teens are free to dance the night away in a non-alcoholic environment or just hang out and make new friends.
  5. One cruise line (MSC) even lets kids cruise for free.
  6. Most cruise lines will accommodate the tastes of your child and several even make their own baby food, but you will need to request this ahead of time.
  7. Room service is free so if you would rather feed your child away from the crowds and distractions of the dining room you can.
  8. Staff members are willing to babysit on the ship during their off hours so that you can get out and take in a show.  Some parents prefer to bring their nanny or a babysitter with them on the cruise, and the cost for an on board babysitter can vary.
  9. High chairs are available in the dining room, or you can have one brought to your state room.
  10. Some cruise lines even have classes geared toward teenagers like photography and film making.
Cons
  1. Some cruise lines have not gone the extra mile to include very many kid friendly activities, so you’ll need to do some research ahead of time to see if they have or not.
  2. Even on the cruise lines that have been touted for their kid friendly programs there is often not enough for the kids to do.
  3. Typically kids have to be at least 3 to go into the kids’ clubs and they have to be potty trained.
  4. The tweens (8 to 12) struggle to find their place.  They are too old for many of the kid areas where they are doing crafts and games, but they are too young for the teen club areas.  Depending on the kid you may still find them saying that they are bored.
  5. While some cruise lines have added many kid-specific things to do there aren’t very many family friendly activities.  So if you are looking for a place that you can do something as a family the cruise ship may not be the place.
  6. Most cruise lines charge full price for kids.
  7. Most of the state rooms only have a stand up shower so if your child can’t take a shower you will need to bring an inflatable bathtub with you.
  8. Toddlers who are not potty trained cannot use the pools. Pools on the cruise ship are usually highly chlorinated and it probably wouldn’t be good for young kids anyway.
  9. There aren’t many outlets in the room so you will want to bring your own outlet strip to plug in cell phones, iPods, DVD players and the like.
  10. Closets are very small and filled with shelves, so keep that in mind when you are packing.  There are a few drawers, but not enough for everyone to have their own if you’re all in the same room.
Before booking a cruise with kids in tow, consider the pros and cons to evaluate it family cruising is right for you.

The life comes from the sea

From the sea comes every life
And from the sea came the ancient fathers of Sardinia;
From the sea they did get their food
Before they discovered
Our rich, great land of Sardinia!

From the sea came the roman enemies
Conquerors, destroyers
And after them
Other avid merchants
Came to exploit, to kill.

But I still hope
That soon this same sea
Which is named after us
Might define again
The borders of our own land
And Sardinian people
Might take the sceptre of command
That the fate and the story
Has assigned to them
And just to them

Almost a bridge to heaven!

The New world's longest  record belongs now to The Jiaozhou Bay bridge.
It covers more than the distance between Dover and Calais actually measuring more than 24 miles.
It took 4 years to build it up and costs almost 1£billion.
If it were built toward the sky it could be ... a bridge to heaven!

The Son of God Neptune

This wonderful 36 weeks boy can rightly be considered as a son of Neptune-Poseidon or may be son of Roman god Mercury (Hermes for the Greeks).
As matter of fact he was born, as you can easily read in his birth certificate at "air/sea occurrence".
But his real name is Bearing Linville, and he was born the 13 september 2010 at 28 miles far from the shore, where their parents were sailing and caught by an unpredictable storm, just in front of the coasts of Florida (U.S.A.).
Well! Congratulations to this son of Neptune!
