What a desert!

The Badain Jaran Desert  is a desert in China which has a pecularity: its dunes  reach a height of 500 meters.
How these dunes are kept in place in the arid, windy region, is not a mistery anymore.

Under this desert there are a lot of  lakes which silently run: some made of salt water, some others of plain, drinkeable water.

But the fresh water has been analysed to discover it comes from the snow melt off the mountains distant hundreds kilometers from the desert.
