5 Ways Nannies Can Help Divorced Parents

For divorced parents with shared custody, coordinating childcare can become a real dilemma. Where there was once two parents jointly juggling the family, work, and home related responsibilities, after parents divorce each parent is often left to fend for themselves and, as a result, childcare arrangements can become a mere afterthought.
When children of divorced parents need full-time childcare, hiring a nanny can be a feasible childcare choice. In addition to providing personalized and customized childcare, nannies can help divorced parent’s co-parent successfully.
Here are 5 ways how:
Nannies can provide consistency of care. Children whose parents share custody often live between houses, traveling from one parent’s home to the other quite often. In the midst of the transition and ongoing changes nannies can provide consistent care. Nannies can help ensure the children’s schedules and routines are followed in both homes and help parents avoid logistical nightmares of tag teaming drop-offs and pick-ups from daycare. Children feel safe and secure when there is routine and structure in their lives and a nanny can bring those feelings to light by providing consistent, high quality childcare.
Nannies can provide a sense of stability. As everything around a child is changing, a nanny can be a source of stability in a child’s life. When parents are going through a divorce the bond a child has with her nanny may be the most stable and stress-free relationship she has. Nannies can help children cope with divorce by being a safe, secure, familiar, and constant force in their lives. Children thrive when they feel safe and secure.
Nannies can advocate for the children. Nannies can help ensure that the child’s needs are being met first and foremost, regardless of which home she is at. Keeping both parents abreast of any changes in behavior, demeanor, or physical, social, intellectual, and emotional needs can ensure that the child’s needs are clearly articulated. Nannies can also alert the parents if the child seems stressed or displays signs that he is having difficulty coping with the divorce. When a child’s needs are met by both parents, it will reinforce that he is loved.
Nannies can reassure children that it’s not their fault. During a divorce children may bear the unearned burden of responsibility for their parent’s breakup. Having a nanny to reinforce that the child is loved by both parents can help lift this unnecessary and painful emotional burden.
Nannies can facilitate communication. During and after a divorce the emotions are often too raw for parents to have successful and meaningful communication.  While a nanny shouldn’t be in the position of being the go between for non-child centered communication, having a nanny to help facilitate communication regarding the child can ensure a smooth transmission of information. Having a nanny who is able to communicate information about the children to both parents, to transport the children to and from each parent’s home, and to put the children’s schedule into a useable form for all parties to refer to can help ensure important messages are delivered timely and accurately.
If you’re a divorced parent considering hiring a nanny, it’s important that you select a nanny who is a solid communicator. Having a detailed work agreement and custody schedule that your nanny clearly understands is also vital to setting your nanny up for success.  While turning to your nanny as a confidant can be tempting, resist the urge to blur professional lines. Treating your nanny as a valued professional rather than a friend will empower her to do her job well and to always put the child’s best interests first.

10 Ways to Care for Your Garden in a Hot, Dry Summer

During the summer it’s not unusual for the temperature to reach above 100 degrees in many parts of the country, even in the shade, which is a cause of concern for anyone who is trying to nurture a garden. Trying to combat an untimely death to plants and flowers that you have lovingly cultivated and nurtured can be like fighting an uphill battle in the never-ending heat waves that plague summer months. However your plants don’t have to disappear once the summertime hits and, armed with a few helpful tips and tricks, your garden can thrive despite record-breaking temperatures and the relentless rays of the sun.
  1. Choosing plants that thrive in your normal weather pattern and the area of the country you live in is the first step to having a healthy garden.
  2. You can’t always forecast when the summer will be unseasonably hot and dry, however keeping up with the weather forecasts from your weather stations will help in making decisions to keep your garden growing during a dry spell.
  3. One water-saving method is to use mulch.  How much mulch you need will depend on the size of your garden, but mulch is known to help retain the moisture from rain or from your own watering system.
  4. Never water during the heat of the day.  The sun has a way of evaporating the water faster than the plants can receive nourishment from the water. Try to water early in the morning or later at night when the sun isn’t out to ensure your plants get the most water possible.
  5. Use a watering spike – this is simply a sprinkler nozzle on a large plastic reticulation sprinkler extension with a connector to the hose
  6. In times of heat shock, a seaweed extract based liquid fertilizer treatment often reduces heat stress and it may help protect the plant in future. You can read more about that here.
  7. Using a water wand will aid in watering plants without force.  Spraying too hard may harm the plants during drought.
  8. Conserving water should be a way of life, and knowing to use our supply correctly will also aid in keeping plants healthy.  For instance, use the wand on the hose to water the roots.  The roots actually give the growth above it a drink from its supply.
  9. A soaker hose laid around the plant on the ground will also soak the plants and use less water
  10. Understanding that there is no life form that can live without water, we must plan our gardens knowing we have a good water supply close by.  Some plants we can over water, while others need more TLC where a drink of water is concerned.
Hopefully, despite the long, hot summer days, by using these tips you have success when harvest time comes. By carefully paying attention the temperatures and providing your plants with plenty of water and love, your garden should survive the hottest part of the year.

What a smile!

If eyes are the soul's windows, smile is the door of his welcome!
As matter of fact, the smile is a visiting card for anyone of us, not only for star system's, sellers  or politicians.
That's why we have to take maximum care for the evolving increase of our children's teeth.
If you want to be sure not to make any mistake on this important matter please go to the link below and read carefully what Jacqui Barrie writes on her interesting article in the aupairjobs ' blog

The Poem of Creation

Prologue

I sing the God Almighty’s Creation
Wherein were firstly born Adam and Eve
former seed of any human Nation
at the time they could only conceive
the joyfulness with no desperation
In the Eden still so far to misgive
The trick of that infernal snake
Who likes to be the Manhood's fake!

I also sing about the valiant braves,
descending  from the ancient, chosen race,
who such in courageous and daring ways
Isr’eli people to holy surface
They led of Palestine. Betray’ls, hates, loves,
I don't omit, on fortune and disgrace:
those between God and men, between kingdoms ;
and  wars, exiles and  laws  into my songs.

Arduous so much however it ‘s my part,
long and full of traps my composition,
That plenty of fear I feel into my heart,
if I dare to see myself on action,
and tremble with my hand before I start
The Old,  the New and all Holy Narration!
My Fairy God, You Firmament’s Creator
Allow  me to become such a narrator!

From Genesis’ to Apocalypse’s book
please drive my hand between rhymes and accents
to enable  jointly with my mind, to hook
the most significant, deep, true  sentiments
in order they can take a fairly look
of those seventy three, pious components!
If someone goes to Source for sweeter tasting
all my efforts for sure I won’t be wasting!

10 Tips to Toddler-Proofing Your Home

As soon as infants become mobile they are suddenly gifted with the ability to get into everything that they can reach. When those infants then become toddlers that are able to walk, climb, and run through the house, parenting can feel more like a full-contact sport than anything else. Toddler-proofing your house requires more than slapping on a set of cabinet locks, though they are still a worthwhile investment. The average home is host to a staggering array of safety hazards, most of which aren’t immediately apparent to first-time parents of a newly-upright and mobile child. To keep your inquisitive little one safe and sound, here are ten tips for creating a safer home environment.
  1. Amend Your Cooking Habits – When you’re childless, or when an infant is safely tucked away in a bassinet, there’s not much focus on making sure that you choose back burners whenever possible and that you turn all pot and pan handles inward. The moment your little bundle of joy starts walking, however, it’s imperative to condition yourself to do just that. Reducing the risk of dangerous spills that can land on a child, or scalding food splattering onto his skin, by adjusting your cooking behavior is an important part of toddler-proofing the kitchen.
  2. Wrap and Conceal Electrical Cords and Wires – Wires that are visible, especially those hanging loose in bundles along the floor behind the entertainment center, should be wrapped tightly and concealed or secured so that little fingers can’t reach them. Pulling these wires can not only damage your appliances and components, but also send them toppling onto a curious child.
  3. Cover Outlets – Every new parent receives a handful of plastic outlet plugs that are designed to keep little fingers out of the dangerous current. They’re perfectly capable of doing the job when crawling infants are at eye level with outlets, but observant toddlers can figure out how to pull them out of the wall by watching his parents remove them to use the outlet. Investing in slightly more complex full outlet plates can foil your little genius’s attempts to access the wall plugs, keeping them safe from harm.
  4. Secure Shelving Units – It doesn’t take long for toddlers to learn that something that was previously out of reach of their questing fingers can be accessed by climbing. Shelves, dressers, and any other furniture that can possibly give a toddler an invitation for scaling it is subject to just that; while it’s best to discourage this type of behavior, it’s also a good idea to make sure that shelves are securely attached to the wall to prevent a dangerous tip-over if your child does climb onto them when you’re out of sight.
  5. Use Non-Skid Mats in Bathtubs – The moment your child can stand up, he will start to do so in the bathtub. Though you should never leave any child unattended in the bathtub, a non-skid mat can help you prevent nasty falls resulting from little feet than can’t quite manage slippery, wet tub surfaces.
  6. Lock Sliding Doors – Sliding a patio door open is, in many cases, easier for little kids to do than adults realize. Kids can slip outside in the blink of an eye by applying the slightest bit of pressure to the door, so make sure that you keep sliding doors locked at all times. It may also be wise to attach removable decals on glass doors at toddler-eye-level, to keep your child from running headlong into a transparent glass panel.
  7. Keep Medications In Childproof Containers, Out of Sight and Out of Reach – Reuters Health reported in 2011 that the number of children who end up in the emergency room due to accidental poisoning with prescription medications do so as a result of  accessing them themselves. Keeping medications in purses or bags and under bathroom cabinets, especially in easy-to-open containers rather than the childproof variety they’re originally dispensed in, is a risky proposition. Instead, make sure that all medication remains in childproof containers, and that all of those containers are kept well out of reach and sight. A safe or lock box is an ideal place to store medication.
  8. Use Safety Gates, But Realize That They’re Fallible – The baby gate is a perennial favorite of parents, especially those with stairs. While they can be very useful and effective, parents should remember that they’re not entirely foolproof, and that kids should still be supervised in an area with dangerous stairs.
  9. Install Window Guards – Window guards prevent children from tumbling out of second and even first-floor windows, whether they’re deliberately opened for air circulation or lifted by a curious toddler. The Consumer Products Safety Commission reports that an estimated 4,000 injuries occur as a result of falls from household windows annually, so don’t overlook the windows while you’re toddler-proofing.
  10. Set the Water Heater at 120° – If you didn’t turn your hot water heater’s temperature setting to 120° when your little one was born, it’s a wise move to do so now that he’s walking. Scalds are one of the most common types of burns that emergency room doctors see with their smaller-set patients, so making sure that your hot water never reaches excessive temperatures is best.
Rather than relying solely on your childproofing measures, it’s best to monitor your toddler and help him learn safe habits through direction and instruction. If you do, when he’s older and toddler-proof measures are removed, he’ll understand that some things are still dangerous to play with.

Nothing ir really better than this (for a newborn child)

Since long time past manhood have found in the breast milk their first nutrition.

According to the  majority of pediatricians breast milk contains antiviruses and antibatterical qualities, unable to be replaced in any other milk or food from industrial productions.

That's why is so important, for working new moms, to know how to handle breast milk for storage.

Also poetically, the sight of a mother feeding her own child at her breast is one of the most emotional and enchanting visions.

If you want to find a clear and complete explanation on this great subject, please go to the link below and read Kaitlyn Johnson's report.

The life of Giuseppe Garibaldi- 8th Part

Garibaldi is divided between land and sea operations, he reconstructs a flotilla to the head of which he succeeded, in April 1842, to prevent vessels from Brown to occupy the Isla de Ratas, in the Bay of Montevideo.

In April 1843, he returned to Montevideo.  Garibaldi will organize and lead a group of volunteers called the Legión Italiana (Italian Legion), which is at the service of the Government of Montevideo, the Gobierno de la Defensa (Government of Defence). They are all inexperienced men, in need  to be trained, paled in the initial fighting.  They are more experienced at the Combate of Tres Cruces (Three Crosses of battle), November 17, 1843, near Montevideo.

Much of the defenders are foreigners, mainly French (2500 men) and Italian (500 to 700 men), in 6500 only 800 are Uruguayan defenders.

The Italian legion, like Garibaldi, wear the red shirt, garment originally designed for slaughterhouse workers in Argentina. This red shirt is an essential element of Garibaldi's myth, but many of them, nevertheless, wear the gauchos' hat and the poncho of the pampas.

He links with the Masonic lodges earned him, in 1844, being admitted at "Friends of the Country", which depends on the Grand Orient of France.

To defend the interests of their nationals, the French and the English are asking Argentines to withdraw and when they refused, they block the port Buceo and seized the Argentine fleet. Brown returns to civilian life. Relations between the three nations harden, allowing Montevideo, with the support of its allies, to loosen the stranglehold of the blockade.

In April 1845, Garibaldi embarked on a new fleet of twenty ships and 900 men, the Allies landed to occupy and plunder Colonia del Sacramento with the participation of French and British fleets.

On February 8, 1846, in the territory of Salto, near the San Antonio River, a tributary of the Rio Uruguay, Garibaldi and his Italian Legion  fight against superior forces of the Confederacy, which they inflict heavy losses and are able to withdraw after losing about a third of their workforce. The implications of this are an  immense victory he obtained the status of heroes, his fame became international and the Italian press says his feat. He gives up fame and money, the land that promised Bento Gonçalvo him, to see yet is that the waiting beyond the ocean,  leaves certain and known for unknown, safety for the adventure, to ease the hardships!

In leaving America on the boat Esperance Garibaldi is seized by a spiritual fever, longing for Italy, he knows still dominated by foreigners and shared, as we have already described. It makes me rethink the immortal words that Dante  told to Ulysses in Canto 23 of the Inferno:

"0 my companions, who have arrived in the seas of the West, having braved so many dangers, and who have, like me, only a short time to survive!  Do not refuse, walking against the run of the sun, the noble satisfaction of seeing people of the deprived hemisphere; consider your human essence: you were not born to live like brutes, but to follow virtue and knowledge! "
