The plot

The Big Brother arrives one morning in a local  school. The Young students are enthusiastic: fame and money finally arrive for them. But someone wants to teach kids that easy money often hides deception. In fact, the people in charge of television are barkers looking for plucking chickens. Their evil plan is  doomed to failure thanks to the intuition of an old suspicious teacher and some guys who have learned that following the dreams  without asking questions is not always the best choice. The comedy, in ten scenes, was successfully performed in Decimomannu (where it was born) and participated to the National Theater Review for the Grosseto School, in Tuscany. Big Brother School, or "Big Brother at School" is already present in Amazon First Volume that the author has published also  in Paperback for the "All Comedies" series , planned in twelve  different volumes in English, Italian, French, Spanish and Sardinian Language.

First Scene

(A normal sixteen’s students  classroom of a High Technical School. When the curtain opens Prof. Loi is already in class and checks the register. In the background a closet and a blackboard. On the wall an inscription in block letters " I.T.S. "E. Mattei- Decimomannu" )

Prof. Loi (asking for attention)

         - But the appeal hasn't been made?

First Student (without almost stopping to chat with his classmate)

         - In fact, no one's missing today...

Prof. Loi (indicating a free school desk)

         - What about those  empty chairs?

Second Student

         - It's the usual bench of the two comrades who retired...

Prof. Loi (in annoyed tone)

         - Ah! Haven't they  picked it up yet?

Third Student (sarcastically)

         - Hey, teacher! Are you kidding? They have surely been very busy !!!

Prof. Loi (in a resigned tone)

         - Oh, yeah! Too much an effort to move it up... Whatever! Who has to justify the absences and delays?

Fourth Student

         - I've forgotten my booklet...

Fifth Student

         - I lost it instead…

Sixth student

         - I haven't been given the booklet  yet...

Seventh student

         - Wait, teacher! I'm filling it out!

Eighth student (approaching professorship)

         - Can I see the register, Professor? I don't remember my absences anymore!

Prof (between annoyed and resigned, handing over the class register)

         - Every day I have to waste a quarter of an hour with this bureaucracy! But why don't you make these blessed justifications at home?

Laissez faire, laissez passer

Come on! Laissez faire, laissez passer!

Today is not time

To arrest people anymore!

Don’t you know is November the 9th 1989?

Today there is not time

To stop goods anymore!

Come on!

Only one thousand dollars

Will cost you

A plenty full track!

At 9 past 21 p.m.

The wall is falling down!

Laissez faire, laissez passer!

There are bound to be changes

For our lives further on!

It’s crashing down

Together with our illusions

Their false promises

The wrong secular hope!

Come on!

The wall is not hiding anymore

The totems of progress!

Let’s go worshipping

The glittering gods

Bounding ahead!

The imperfect science

One day Ronald Reagan, annoyed by the vague answers that gave him his economic advisers vented his anger by saying that he wanted to have economic advisers with only one hand.

In fact, in economics, as in drug therapy, there is no cure that does not have contraindications.

If you take a pill for the headaches, there is a serious risk to end up with an upset stomach, and perhaps with a good antibiotic, together with the viruses you might destroy your intestinal flora and your vitamin stores.

Even in economics, if you increase the amount of money in circulation, you'll give  impetus to inflation, and if increases in wages, prices will go up, and so on.

The reality is that we are in crisis because we have the illusion that our economic growth can go up indefinitely.

And we are not available to regress and to change our consumer habits.

Yet we must resign ourselves, sooner or later, to change our economic model of development (and senseless consums that are the corollary) if you do not want the planet earth sink under the weight of our abuse.

And maybe he's right the great philosopher Edgar Morin when he writes that our model of democratic representation needs to be changed, reviving it with a more direct involvement of local communities on the one hand, and globalization of a central government on the other hand.

Let them go

Seven hundred have been arrested by police between the thousands of protester against the Wall Sreet Criminals. Can't be arrested at all people who show their thoughts and ideas in a democratic, pacific way.
So let them go! You can't legally  retain them!
We criticize Capitalism not for the sake of communism (which has already shown its owns limits making default all over the east side of the world)!
We criticize Capitalism because we believe that society and market itself is made for the man's welfare not the other way round.
Financial speculatrors make their business and their profits against the majority of society, showing to believe that in the center of the economic system there is the profit, not the man with its needs.
We don't believe in the god of profits.
We do believe in the God of manhood!

Let them talk

Lot of people are protesting outside The Stock Exchange of Wall Street in New York. They show all their discontent for the financial crisis which has been increasing in the last three years all over the western countries.
It seems that Police has arrested few of them trying to spare the spontaneous assembly over with unpolite manners (I'm using an euphemism, as matter of fact).
Well, let me say that I  think that people have all the right to show their disappointment against the financial elite of bankers and exchange's who have acted for  with egoistic approuch aiming their personal profit against the midddle and the low classes, who have been paupereted by the speculations and financial movements.
I mean: we all live in the same society; we share the same institutions, the same culture, the same needs, the same dignity but it seems that these peoplethink to be overe everybody's lot.
So they keep enriching themselves against the common interest; I call them the dark side of capitalism.
And please don't tell me I'm a communist; I don't like communism at all; but I think that capitalism must renew itself if it wants to keep being a point of force in the future of western world.
